CompTIA’s Linux+ Exam
is an exam for people wanting to certify in the Linux OS. The previous exam - XK0-001 retired July 31 of 2005. The new exam - XK0-002 which this cheat sheet covers is the latest version to date (1/2006)
Where the previous one required a 655 to pass, this exam requires a 675. XK0-001 was equivalent to 6 months on the job experience where as the new one XK0-002 is now equivalent to 6 months to 1 year. The new, revised exam gives greater weight to security, installation, configuration, and documentation, while decreasing emphasis on hardware.
The XK0-002 exam has 98 questions on it (Previously on XK0-001 there were 94) that are given in conventional format. This non-adaptive test allows you to mark questions for review later at the end before you submit your answers.
While studying for this exam, I compiled a list of the notes I had taken. This list does NOT cover all of the exam. It is merely a brief cliff notes version to highlight some of the material. I have posted it on this website for others to download. It is available free to anyone. There are no guarantees with this cheat sheet I have made. I originally made it just to remind me of a few things for a quick study before taking the exam. Please do not rely solely on this for studying.
