Linux+ Update
I want to thank everyone who commented, emailed me, crossed their fingers or thought about me while I was taking my test. Sadly, I did not pass 
I ended up getting a 640 and a 675 was needed to pass. I guess I am sort of taking this pretty hard. This really has gotten under my skin. Will I try again? I don’t know. It has really made me re-evaluate things. I have had to wonder if computers is even what I want to work in now. This test was even hard for me. Most of the others, with the exception of the CCNA exam.. I found to be very easy and had no problems on. This - well, this is a different story. I really had to work to get the score I did - and.. It wasn’t good enough. I keep thinking it doesn’t matter how good I am working with Linux.. or how long I have used it.. If I couldn’t pass this test, I must not be good enough. But, who knows. More than anything, I am just mad at myself for not passing

Dear GirlGeekette,
Sorry to hear that you did not pass. When I took my A+ in 2002 I was suprised that some of the questions required selection of the least incorrect response. I am also preparing for Linux+. Just wondering what study materials you selected to prepare for the exam. I am using the Thomson Course Technology that is a couple of years old, realizing of course that I will need to look at some newer texts before I attempt the test.

Thank you Jeff! I really appreciate it. AS much as I have fought not too.. I guess I will get back and try it again. It hit me pretty hard.. I am not used to it being so hard for me. This one struck me pretty good though.
It made me realize that the reson the others were so easy was because I use them day in and day out. Linux.. I use a lot.. but not near as much CLI as I should. The switches are the hardest for me. I am used to being able to man a command and not having to know them off the top of my head.
And I dont use this exclusively enough to know it liek the back of mind had like I do the other things.
I am using Thompson Linux+ 2005 in Depth and Sybex. I am used to using Gentoo, but now I am going to install Fedora.
I have a cheat sheet I have made.. IM working on cleaning it up some. It is sorta like the security+ one I made. I guess I need to heed my own and study off of it. I looked at it afterwards and there does seem to be quite a bit off of it from the test. Although.. it happened to be notes I needed.. I didnt add what I already knew. I will post that soon. It is about 5 pages.

Sorry to hear you didn’t pass. I as well have just recently failed the XK0-002 exam. I was blown away on how hard it actually was. You have some excellent stuff on your site that certainly will help any Linux newbie understand what’s going on inside this OS. Good luck!

My sympathies! I understand exactly the brick wall you hit. I sat the exam 8 weeks ago and got 665 - very frustrating since it was only a few months previously that this would have exceeded the pass mark! Well nevermind. I went on holidays for 3 weeks to South East Asia and forgot all about it. Suffice to say I’ve just booked myself back in to resit next month and will not be taking chances.
I think this is a danger with Comptia exams - they are perceived as being “easy” so you don’t sweat as much as say for the CCNA (which I did pass on the first go). Also I found it practically impossible to get quality practice material for the questions - so was utterly unprepared for the standard of questions.
Basically don’t waste money on the Ucertify product - the questions simply do not reflect the standard of the exam. Testking and its clones products are better but the question pool is still limited. My plan this time around is to use question material from the LPI exams - which seem to be of a similar standard. Good luck next time

I have heard that the LPI tests are very respected in the Linux community.. If I can ever pass the comptia one, i might try for that one as well. Who knows
I think that was my mistake.. was that I precieved the comptia one as being too easy. Though, I did study hard… I ahve never had that problem on a comptia test though.. everyone I ahve taken has been easy so far up until this one. Some I even took 2 in a day and barely studied for either (security+ and inet+) but.. I never stopped to think that I actually use that stuff day in and day out, whereas Linux I do, but not in the fashion as I do in windows.
Nex in the list is CCNA renewing, then I will go back and try the linux+. Plans are to finish the MCSA and psosibly server+ this year after CCNA and linux.. and next year will be CCSP stuff. I kinda play it by ear…..
