Dear sir plz tell me about that error
    (0*8004210B)
    with regards
    pappu

  2. The Geekette Says:

Normally, that is a fault of the mail server itself and not much can be done about it.

Sometimes you may get this error though if you are using a different outgoing mail server for email than the ISP you are using. In other words, for instance, if you are traveling and your outgoing
mail server is normally mail.cox.com and you are on a hotel’s ISP where you are staying, and they have Road Runner as an ISP, you would have to use their outgoing mail server instead of yours. If that
is the case, you would have to change your outgoing SMTP server in your configurations.

The other reason I can think this would occur is dealing with read receipts. The Microsoft Knowledge base
    describes this situation.
If you receive these errors: and are using MS office - 0×8004210A, 0×800CCC0B, and 0×8004210B, you might need a
    SP2 post hotfix package.

So please tell us what this error code says - how can I work arount it.
I work on Win Vista Business; Windows Live Mail; and get this error trying to access news groups on the mail program. Downloading normal email messages is no proble. Seems my computer has problems accessing the news server. However, sometimes, it does connect and I am able to download news messages. To recreate this problem is impossible. I have already changed/cut antivirus programs, anti-malware and anti phising programs.
How can I test communication to the news server outside the email program?
    PLEASE DISCUSS
    Thanks

  5. Dave Says:

Wow. Not a good answer yet.
pappu: update your software to a newer version as this is a recognized issue with outlook 2000 and/or 2003. If it is a newer version then check your settings for a “Anonymous Access Authentication” option or check box. Make sure it’s selected or turned on.

Søren B. Pedersen ( DK ): Turn off your virus software email scanner option and see if that helps. If it does then call the software companies support line and ask them about a proper solution. Otherwise, if it didn’t help then refer to the solution I provided above to pappu.

DF Groenewald: Check all the authorization settings for the news feed and make sure to check if you need to login to access it. Basically it wants you to “Authorize” the connection and you have either no settings or the wrong settings for that news feed.

In general this would be a good problem solving path for any email client software errors or prolems:

Re-check all of your settings, then cross-reference them with the provided settings from your email provider. To figure this who the email address is hosted by all you have to do is look at the section after the “@” symbol and before the “.com” section. If it’s your internet service provider then call them and they’ll have the settings available for you. If it’s a free email host such as Gmail they almost always have a support link which you can find the settings easily through.
