Search Sight and Q Value
Written by The Geekette on October 17, 2005 – 7:02 amPosted in SEO |
Search Sight
is another Search Directory I have been using for a few years. Similar to Google
, Search Sight
has a ranking system. For Search Sight
, a Q value is given to each website. Ranking from 0-10, the Q value plays a role in helping to determine the position of the website on Search Sight’s
website. Normally, the highest value given to a website is a 7.0. If the website has a link to Search Sight
, it is given an extra .5. If a website is upgraded to a premiere listing, it is automatically given a minimum 9.0 listing.
When the original aleeya.net was up, it contained a Q value of 2.5. When the website was changed over to the new theme, it was given a 4.0. With a few tweaks, the Q value rose to 5.0 and then 6.0. With a few more tweaks, at it’s current state, it is now a 7.5. I am extremely proud of this!
At this time, GirlGeekette dotNet
is (and has been) a 6.0. As I work on different tweaks and improvements, I will continue to monitor how it is doing.
